City Guide: Vancouver

It only took four months but I’m finally getting around to city guides from our Canadian road trip we took back in March/April. This was my second time in Vancouver, the first was when we started our West Coast road trip last summer. Now that I’ve seen a bit more I’ve decided to finally put together a Vancouver city Guide.

Stanley Park

When we visited last summer we spent a good portion of a day walking through Stanley Park. My only regret is that I didn’t wear proper shoes, sandals were a baaad idea, my feet were so sore by the end. So pro tip, if you plan on spending a good portion exploring the park wear the proper shoes.

There’s so much to do within the park, hike, ride your bike, catch some beach time at one of the many beaches, take in the mountain views, eat, and treat yourself to some ice cream.

Jericho Beach

The friend we were visiting lives near Jericho Beach. It’s a bit of a trek from downtown but if you are in the area it’s totally worth checking out.

Downtown Waterfront

Vancouver’s downtown waterfront is the perfect place to shop, eat, drink, etc. I recommend grabbing some ice cream, sitting on a bench and people watch.

If you love tacos as much as I do then Tacofino is a must! Located in Gastown, it has a unique charm and has a warm, cozy vibe. The chips and guacamole are delicious, along with the fish taco and chicken taco.

Bella Gelateria

Award winning Bella Gelateria is a must! The gelato is so flavourful and smooth.

The Cove Pub

Located near Jericho beach, if you are in the area this is a cozy place to stop by for food and beer.

Incendio Pizzeria
Incendenio is located in Gastown. The meat pizza shown below is some of the best pizza I’ve had in my life. They have a decent size drink menu as well.

Craft Beer Market

If you love craft beer then Craft Beer Market is a must. The beer menu size makes it hard to choose what beers to try, thankfully they offer 5oz tasters in case you want to try a few different kinds. They also have a full food menu.

Granville Brewery

Located on Granville Island, it’s a great place to stop and rest after exploring the island. If you want to try a few of their beers the flight is the way to go.

Make Store

Located on Granville Island, Make is a cute, quirky store that sells fun and unique items. You can also have shirts and other items custom printed.

Granville Island Public Market

Granville Market is a great place to stop for a snack or lunch while visiting the island.
