City Guide: Monterey & Big Sur

When we arrived in Monterey our first stop was the aquarium. I wish we got to explore more of Monterey but we only had a night in this city so we had to make the best of it.

Going to the Monterey Aquarium is a must. The jelly fish was obviously the highlight of the visit for me. I could stare at them all day.

The aquarium is indoors and outdoors. This was the view. Not bad if you ask me.

After the aquarium we went to our hotel to drop our stuff off and take a small break. We decided to check out Asilomar Beach and as you can see below the scenery was pretty nice. I also had TWO corgis running towards me on the beach, it took everything in me to not run up to them and grab them. I’m just a little obsessed.

The next day we packed up the car and began the drive to Los Angeles. On our way we stopped along the Big Sur and got some unreal photos.

And then we saw elephant seals.

Monterey was a pretty low key, chill place. We took in a lot of the scenery and didn’t really check out any local food places, we stuck to the grocery store which was a nice change from eating out everyday. If you’re going to Monterey definitely take the drive to Big Sur and the Bixby Bridge. Also check out some of the local beaches and the aquarium.

Stay tuned for Los Angeles.

And make sure to check out my Seattle, Portland, and San Francisco city guides if you haven’t already.
