Oh hey, remember me? It’s been so long since I’ve blogged over here, but to be honest I just haven’t had the time. To sum it up March has been insane and feels like one big blur. There were nights that I didn’t sleep, nights that I only got a few hours of sleep, days where I broke down because everything seemed so overwhelming and I started thinking about what I really want to do with my career.
Today I’m headed to Vancouver to begin a two-week vacation with Jeff and a few friends and it could not have come at a better time. I’m ready to leave my laptop at home, disconnect from the internet and just relax.
Our trip has us driving from Vancouver to Edmonton with stops in Victoria, Whistler, Kalowana, Jasper, Banff, Calgary, and Edmonton. I’m excited for another road trip. Our last one was so much fun, and although we won’t be stopping in warm California, or seeing the desert again, I’m excited to explore Canada. You think living in Canada I would’ve seen a lot of it but to be honest I’ve seen very little, it’s a little sad TBH aha.
I’m excited to see new things, try new things, go outside my comfort zone and just enjoy myself. When I come back I think I’ll be in the search of a 9-5 design job. I think I’m ready to put behind the freelancing for now at least. Don’t get me wrong, I loved these past 2 years so much. I’ve learned more than I could’ve imagined but it’s freaking exhausting. The late hours, learning to balance work and life, finding work, the business side of it, networking, I got tired just writing that out. I want to try something new, find a good place to work, and have that regular pay check again.
Spring/Summer 2016 should be an interesting one and I look forward to it.
If you have any recs for the above places we are visiting I’d love to hear them.
